What is thePinkPanel?

thePinkPanel is the most beautiful and fun beauty and personal care consumer panel in the United States! We seek beauty-loving consumers who enjoy providing feedback to brands. It’s no cost to participate, but you must apply for each study that interests you.

Who can be a member of thePinkPanel?

thePinkPanel welcomes women of all ages (18-99+), skin types and skin tones. If you love beauty and personal care products, join us! Please note, only women in the USA (and Canada, depending on the brand of products) will be eligible to test products, due to restrictive postage fees and customs regulations.

How do I join?

What can I do as a member of thePinkPanel, and will I be rewarded?

As a member, you’ll receive emails and Facebook posts alerting you to opportunities to test exciting new products for one day, or sometimes for up to eight weeks or more. After you try and test a product in one of our studies, you will usually get to keep the product AND receive a $25 – $100+ incentive in gift cards or beauty products—just for testing them!

But that’s not all! You’ll also have the opportunity to apply to participate in in-person or online focus groups, where you’ll earn $100 for your time! You can also share your opinions about beauty brands, cosmetics packaging, the latest beauty and personal care devices and tools, and more through survey links that we’ll send to you via email. By sharing your opinions in a survey, you’ll have another chance to win products, prizes and gift cards!  We also have fun contests from time to time where you can win products or gift cards!

How often do these opportunities come up?

Sometimes it can be as many as 1-3 or more opportunities each week. Sometimes only a few opportunities a month. But you never know!  Keep an eye out for opportunities at all times. And when you see an opportunity, make sure to act fast as we usually screen our candidates quickly!

Are the products safe to test?

Yes! All test products are market-ready from brands. This means they’ve gone through all requisite safety and stability testing in a clinical lab and are ready to be sold in stores.

This sounds great! What’s the catch?

Beauty brands look to thePinkPanel to provide consumer insights. So there is no cost to participate! However, we cannot guarantee your participation. We select the best candidates possible for each test – so be sure to put your best foot forward when applying for studies and show that you’re capable of being a thoughtful and dedicated panelist! And we do not automatically send out samples; you must apply and then be accepted for each individual study that interests you.

How often can I participate in a beauty product test or a beauty survey?

We ask that you limit your participation to one beauty product test every six months (starting from the first day of your last product test). That way, more women get a chance to test products and we can diversify our panels. However, you are highly encouraged to participate in as many online beauty & personal care surveys (and contests!) as you are able.

I’ve been a member of thePinkPanel for a while and still haven’t been chosen for a Beauty Product Test. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes a beauty brand will come to us asking for the opinions of women between a certain age range, or women who only live in certain locations, or women with specific skin issues, for example.  And sometimes the beauty product tests are open to all women. Just keep applying for your shot at being selected!

However, we do receive a large volume of applicants for every testing opportunity. When filling out your application, be sure to be accurate, thorough and thoughtful with your answers for the best shot at getting selected.

I filled out the screening survey for a beauty or personal care product test. How do I know if I’ve been chosen to participate?

After PinkPanelists have successfully filled out the screening survey for a product test, we choose a limited number of panelists who meet the brand’s criteria. We then notify panelists via email if they’ve been chosen, generally within 3 business days of the announcement of the new testing opportunity. This email will detail all of the next steps for chosen panelists. If you haven’t heard from us after roughly one week, you were not selected for this particular test at this time.

I was part of a beauty product test and the product(s) that I tested didn’t have a brand name on it, or it was concealed. Can I know the brand name now that the test is done?

This is a tricky one! The answer is….sometimes! Some brands are fine with having their brand name revealed, and some brands allow you to test the products with the brand name right on it. Some brands, however, don’t wish to reveal the brand name because the formulation of the product is still being refined, or because they have a major product launch planned where they would rather reveal it. Don’t take it personally if you cannot find out the brand name of the product you used, but know that by testing it you had a hand in making that product even better!

I was part of a product test. When do I get my promised incentive?

Incentives are generally emailed within 7-14 days after the end of a test. Contact your PinkPanel Leader directly for specific information on your incentive.

Can I share thePinkPanel link with friends?

Yes, absolutely! thePinkPanel is open to all women in the US. You may share your general/overall experience with friends and family and can encourage others to signup if they like.

Can I share my product testing details with friends and on social media?

We know that you are excited to participate, but we do need all specific trial information to remain confidential. This includes the brand name, product name and/or photos of the products. Some of the test products are not on the market yet, so all specifics need to remain confidential. You cannot verbally share out this information or post it to online social media platforms/blogs. You also cannot sell your test products.

What do you do with my information?

While we initially ask for your contact information when you sign up, we realize that things change! So in order to have the most up-to-date information, we’ll ask for your contact information in each screening survey again. We never share or sell your contact information.

What guidelines do I need to follow?

In addition to all above mentioned information, we have a few small rules to follow:

  • Be honest; do not provide inaccurate information to receive products.
  • Be confidential; do not share out our beauty product testing information to other websites.

Who runs thePinkPanel?

thePinkPanel is run by The Benchmarking Company , a woman-owned bi-coastal beauty and personal care consumer research firm.
